here is the question. lets say you want to find out who on the internet has the best price for a part'cler item such as a commemorative. lets take a popular one for example the lewis and clark commem. a nice coin. who has the best price? the net is saturated with advertising from a few big whales but usually the better the advertising budget the crappier the prices.

who has the best price on that item? I challenge you to find and link it here.

next question by what methodology could one locate such items using search engines, ebay, robots, whatever, without spending a ton of time doing so? what is the best methodology for finding a specific numismatic item online?

well since nobody's biting-- I guess my threads on interracial dating evoke more interest than those on numis-- I will say what I would do.

First check I would listings on ebay. Then I would check a couple vendors who advertise in coin mags.

On Ebay I see that there are a few available in "buy it now" for $45 and up. if it's a "with pouch set" they want $125.

I see a few listed auctions in the recent while, failed to see at prices about $25.

new world rarities has a big ad in coins mag. they're selling proofs for 31.50 and BU for 32.50.

I poked around for fifteen minutes on the net and couldnt find better.

I did searches using yahoo and google. Does yahoo use google as its search engine driver or what? Pretty similar.

Question stands, how to quickly and efficiently find prices for specific coin items on the internet, besides just searching ebay.

I'd avoid the internet altogether. You never know, one of those guys you deal with could be Jewish, black or heck, even Chinese hiding behind a nice white sounding storefront.
